This interactive dashboard explores the polyphenol content of foods, allowing users to quickly identify which foods contain the highest levels of beneficial plant compounds.

How to Use the Dashboard
Use the filters to explore the data by food group, polyphenol class, specific foods, or individual compounds. The chart dynamically updates to show which foods contain the highest concentrations.
Values are displayed as milligrams per 100 g of food (mg/100 g fresh weight), representing average concentrations measured across scientific studies.
Note: “Polyphenols, total” represents the sum of all measured polyphenol compounds in a food. It is therefore not directly comparable with individual polyphenol classes such as flavonoids or phenolic acids.
Select “Polyphenols, total” to compare the overall polyphenol richness of foods. If you want to explore specific phytochemicals, choose one of the individual compound classes or search for a particular compound.
Data source
The dataset is derived from the Phenol-Explorer database, a comprehensive scientific resource that compiles polyphenol measurements from peer-reviewed research using analytical techniques such as HPLC and mass spectrometry.
Values represent typical averages and may vary depending on food variety, processing, and preparation methods.

Gene expression effects may vary depending on experimental conditions such as cell type, dosage, and exposure time. Some compounds listed are environmental or experimental chemicals and should not be interpreted as dietary or health recommendations.
Gene–Compound Interaction Explorer
This dashboard explores how different chemical compounds interact with specific genes. It allows users to investigate whether a compound increases or decreases gene expression, based on findings reported in scientific studies.
Use the filters to select a gene, compound, or interaction type and examine the supporting evidence. Each interaction listed in the table corresponds to a reported relationship between a compound and gene activity, together with the associated PubMed reference.
Gene expression changes shown here typically reflect experimental measurements of mRNA or protein levels, indicating how a compound may influence biological pathways.
Data source
The data is derived from the Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD), a curated scientific resource that compiles chemical–gene interactions from peer-reviewed biomedical literature. Each interaction in the dataset is linked to the original PubMed publication for traceability.
Reported effects may vary depending on experimental conditions, cell types, doses, and study designs, so results should be interpreted as evidence from individual studies rather than definitive biological outcomes.
